Scalado announces a new release of its imaging engine - CAPS 3.1

Scalado AB, a Swedish software technology and application development company focusing on mobile imaging for the wireless industry announces today its new software technology Scalado CAPS™ 3.1 at 3GSM 2006 in Barcelona. CAPS 3.1 includes Scalado patented technology which enables significant increase of speed and end user appeal while handling multi pixel images in a mobile phone.

The patented solution enables multi-mega pixel images to be handled on any mobile phone platform using only a fraction of memory and processing power, and without the need for expensive hardware thus saving bill of material.

Several unique features such as SpeedView™ and ClearShot™ will also be demonstrated at 3GSM.

SpeedView is a very fast image browsing feature that toggles between full size images and instantly zooms and pan the details. The user experience is instant independent of the size of image. Scalado will show both instant browsing and photo editing of 2 as well as 7 mega-pixel images on a camera phone, something that have not been possible before!  Thus Scalado enables the true digital still camera experience on a mobile phone. Scalado technology is licensed by several tier 1 manufacturers, including Sony Ericsson.
